Raj Pandey
Registered Manager
I am Director as well as Registered Manager for Maya Supported Living Limited. This company is one of way to contribute back to my society. Providing equal and fair opportunity to individual with learning disability and mental health, giving choices and support their independent living. Before opening this company, I started my career from support worker, senior support worker, assistant manager, crisis manager, registered manager; landed on every step of career ladder. So, my experience and maturity has been gradually developed rather than career jumping. And I am proud to say I am still learning and taking new challenges such as from working with learning disability to autism and challenging behaviour. If I have to say why choosing Maya is, the difference between big organisation and small care organisation is that, in big company there is huge gap between higher management and employees as well as transparent communication with families. And that is what Maya tend to bridge. Me being the owner of the company my employees can contact me directly whenever needed as well as client’s family. I want to involve myself, observe how everyone is doing and leading a team by example. I can say my team are very reliable and delivers high-quality work. We provide 65+ training and have robust recruitment system. Regarding career opportunity, all I can say is our majority of senior level staff are recruitment by in house promotion. We believe in retaining staff and providing them better career development opportunity. In relation to client’s family, we wanted to assure them that their loved ones are in good hand through effective communication, being transparent on what we do and sending them regular report about their loved ones.
This is how we want to create our Maya family; happy client, satisfied families and safe working environment.

It is an honour to work in this organisation and to contribute to in whatever I can to raise the standards to a higher level.
The most important thing will always be to ensure the service users are the heart of everything we do. The rest is about ensuring the services are managed efficiently and effectively and that everyone is respected and valued. We all must work as part of a proud team to ensure the home provides outstanding service to our service users.
I love seeing the residents happy and smiling and to know that the Sisters and the staff team are happy too. When there is a happy, positive environment, all the rest is much easier to achieve.
